By Train from London (United Kingdom) to München / Munich (Germany) - Option 1: making a comparatively tightly timed connection in Bruxelles

Journey Summary

Depart London (United Kingdom)

London St Pancras International

Arrive München / Munich (Germany)

München Hbf/Munich main station
Journey Time
from 9hr 9mins

There are two options for travelling from London to München/Munich in a day by train:

(1) via Paris
(2) this route changing trains in: Bruxelles/Brussels and Koln/Cologne

There are no direct daytime  trains between Bruxelles and Munchen/Munich.

Of the two, this route is the fastest, usually the cheapest (until Jan 16th 2020)  and theoretically the easiest – but it isn’t as straightforward as it first seems.

The fastest end-2-end journeys sold by the ticket agents involve making a connection beteween trains at Bruxelles-Midi station of 18 -20mins

But the connection is NOT absolutely guaranteed – the ICE train on to Frankfurt (Main) will depart no more than 10 mins late, irrespective of when the Eurostar from London will actually be arriving.

More information about making the connection in Bruxelles/Brussels - and what to do if you if the Eurostar does arrive too late, is available on our changing trains at Bruxelles-Midi station guide.

You won’t have to buy new tickets/reservations, in the event of a Eurostar arriving too late in Brussels/Bruxelles to make the connection.
