Changing trains in: Paris

The Eurostar will arrive in Paris at the Gare Du Nord, but the TGV train on to Milano will depart from the Gare De Lyon.

This guide explains how to make the transfer between the two stations by RER train.

The connections sold as end-to end journey USUALLY involve taking these trains:

(1) On Mondays to Fridays - take the 05:40 from London St Pancras; 05:58 from Ebbsfleet International, this train arrives Paris Gare Du Nord at 09:17 or 09:27

(2) Taking the 10:39/10:43 (the departure time varies according to the day of the week) from Paris Gare de Lyon, arrives arrives Milano Porta Garibaldi at 17:50

OR

(1) Taking the daily 09:24 from London St Pancras which arrives Paris Gare Du Nord at 12:57.

(2) Taking the 14:38 from Paris, which arrives in arrives Milano Porta Garibaldi station at 21:50.

Looking up the journey:

Take care when booking end-2-end tickets for this journey - particularly if you are offered an end-to-end journey which involves departing London at 10:24

Making that transfer across Paris by RER train won't usually take more than 30 mins and you won't have to 'check-in' for the Torino train

However, departing London at 10:24 allows around an hour, between the scheduled arrival of the Eurostar at the Gare Du Nord and the departure of the train on to Milano from the Gare De Lyon.

So a connection from the 10:24 doesn't allow for much contingency time - and the 14:38 is the final TGV train of the day from Paris to Milano.

An option is to split the booking into London to Paris and Paris to Milano journeys, so that you have more than two hours to make a leisurely transfer across Paris - though doing so will likely be more expensive.

The alternative overnight option:

You don't have to travel by day from London to Milano.
