The Eurostar will arrive in Paris at the Gare Du Nord, but the TGV train on to Milano will depart from the Gare De Lyon.

This guide explains how to make the transfer between the two stations by RER train.

The year round daily connection usually involves taking these trains:

(1) The 09:24 from London St Pancras; 09:41 from Ebbsfleet International, arrives Paris Gare Du Nord at 12:47.

(2) The 14:41 from Paris, arrives Milano Porta Garibaldi at 21:50.

From June 24th an earlier option is available on Mon-Fri only by taking these trains.

Looking up the journey:

Take care when booking end-2-end tickets for this journey.

Most of the connections sold by the agents allow around 1hr 20mins or 1hr 50mins to make the transfer across Paris from the Gare Du Nord to the Gare De Lyon.

Making that transfer across Paris by RER train won't usually take more than 30 mins and you won't have to 'check-in' for the Milano train - so these transfer times should almost guarantee that you will make the connection.

Though be wary of booking end-2-end journeys that allow less than an hour to make the connection.

Those connections won't allow more than 20 mins for any delays - and if you're not setting off from London at 05:40, you will be connecting into the final train of the day between Paris and Milano.

An option is to split the booking into London to Paris and Paris to Milano journeys, so that you have more than two hours to make a leisurely transfer across Paris - though doing so will likely be more expensive.

The alternative overnight option:

You don't have to travel by day from London to Milano.

The only nightly overnight train from Paris is now the train to Italy - so if you'd rather arrive at Milano in the early morning, all the info you need is HERE.
