Changing trains in: Lille

Making the connection between the Eurostar from London and the TGV to Marseille at Lille Europe has the major advantage of avoiding the need to transfer between stations in Paris.

You'll have to make your own way across if you choose the alternative train journey option via the French capital.

This guide explains how to make the connection in Lille.

However, there are 3 other factors to be aware of when looking up this journey via Lille - which we explain in more detail on the 'Ticket Information below.

(1) On Sundays to Fridays, there is an alternative journey option available, which involves changing trains in Lille AND Lyon

(2) The booking agents don't sell end-to-end tickets for the journey, which involves departing London at 12:58 - because the connecting time between trains in Lille is more than 90 mins.

Despite that it is our preference when travelling from London to Marseille by train.

(3) In the very rare event of the 15:04  Eurostar arriving too late to make onward connection, it won't be possible to travel on to Avignon by the end of the day!
