Changing trains in: Paris

The Eurostar will arrive in Paris at the Gare Du Nord, but the TGV on to Biarritz will depart from Paris Montparnasse station.

This guide explains how to make the transfer between the two stations using the Paris Metro.

Take particular care when booking London to Biarritz journeys.

The  fastest options with a journey time of around 7hrs 30 (and some other departures) all allow around 1hr 5min to make the transfer in Paris from the Gare Du Nord to the Gare Montparnasse.

However, in the rare event of the Eurostar arriving in Paris 15 – 20 minutes late, making that 1hr 5min connection into the TGV on to Biarritz will become a race against time.

On Fridays and Sundays ALL of the end-2-end journeys sold by the ticket agents have this comparatively tightly timed connection in Paris

So an option is to split the booking into London to Paris and Paris to Biarritz journeys so that you can set a connecting time that suits you – though doing so will be more expensive.
