In the opposite direction from Geneve to Verona, this is an enchanting journey, but when travelling to Switzerland outside of the height of summer, you will be passing through most of the scenic parts of the route at dusk, or in darkness.

Now that the direct night train from Verona to Paris has been withdrawn, an option for a journey to the French capital, is to overnight in Geneve and then book separate tickets for the high speed Lyria service on to Paris.
If your reserved seat is on the left of the train when you board, then on the right after Milano, depending on your travel date, look out for the views over Lake Maggiore.
