The Snalltaget booking path is comparatively straightforward for a night train.
In common with how the accommodation on most European night trains is sold the price for travelling in an ordinary seat is in effect the base price to which the costs of travelling by the other options is then added.

On this train, in addition to the ordinary seats, the other options are:

  • reclining seats
  • a berth in a shared sleeping compartment
  • an entire private compartment, which can be used solo, or by up to 6 members of a travelling party

The private compartments are sold at a flat rate irrespective of the occupancy, so check the prices carefully, for groups of 4 or more the private compartment can be cheaper than a separate place per person in the shared compartments.

Using InterRail

The Snalltaget guide explains how InterRail users can make reservations, but it makes no mention for Eurail pass users.
