The primary purpose of this station is to provide an interchange between high speed trains and both the A7 autoroute and the D7 road, which connects the town of Aix-en-Provence with the A7.
Take a train to the station and hire a car for easy access to the attractions of Provence.
Most of the stations facilities, including the ticket / travel desks are in located in the Hall A which is beside voix (platform) 4 which is used by trains heading north towards Lyon, Paris, Lille and Bruxelles.
Hence there being a car drop off area outside this Hall A
A bridge which spans the railway tracks connects this Hall A with the Hall B, which is beside voix (platform) 3 where the trains from the north arrive - hence the taxi rank and bus stop for onward travel towards Aix-En Provence are outside this Hall B.
There is also a car drop area on this side of the station as the trains to Toulon and Nice also depart from voix 3.
Both escalators and an elevator (ascenceur) link Hall B to the footbridge, but stars and an elevator provide the link with Hall A.
Bus route / line A2 links Aix en Provence TGV station with the bus station in the town.
During the day there are departures every 15 mins and the journey time is scheduled to be a little over 20 mins, though it's a good idea to allow for at least 30 mins more of contingency time when connecting into an onward departure.
From Aix en Provence town centre
When heading to the station from Aix en Provence some of the buses will be heading to Marseille-Provence Airport.
The buses from Aix en Provence stop on the main road beneath the station, from this stop an elevator and stairs lead up into the Hall A for easy boarding into trains heading north towards .Paris, Lyon, Lille and Bruxelles.
For access to trains heading south and east towards Toulon and Nice, you will need to use the footbridge that links the Hall A to the Hall B on the other side of the station.
to Aix en Provence town centre
The bus stop used by the A2 to the the bus station in Aix en Provence town centre is outside the upper level of the Hall B.
This hall B is beside the voix (platform 3) which is used by trains arriving from the north, some of which will be heading on to Toulon and Nice.
Escalators and an elevator link the Hall 1 to the bus stop.
The station that is located in Aix en Provence town centre is on a rail route which links Marseille to the town and on to Veynes, Gap and Briancon.
