If you will be travelling between Paris and south-east Belgium, particularly Mons, the connections available from these trains to Aulnoye can be a good (and cheaper) alternative to travelling via Brussels.
Final Destination: Maubeuge
No offence intended to the citizens of Aulnoye, but the reason for adding this routing to our journey guides, is that new connections are available at Aulnoye-Aymeries station into trains over the border to Mons in Belgium.
These connections are available if you take the trains from Paris Gare Du Nord, which are usually scheduled to depart at:
07:19 and 19:16 on Mondays to Fridays
10:15 and 19:16 on Saturdays
10:15 on Sundays.
The connecting time between trains will only be around 10 mins - 15mins and the connection should be guaranteed.
The end-to-end journey from Paris to Mons via Aulnoye should take around 2hr 25 mins.
Mon - Friday = 4 x trains per day
Saturday = 2 x trains
Sunday = 1 x train

Booking tickets for Paris to Mons via Aulnoye journeys:
Oui.SNCF doesn't sell tickets for the Paris to Mons via Aulnoye journeys, but B-Europe does sell them.
On B-Europe you can compare these journeys via Aulnoye with the more frequent Paris > Mons journey options, which involve taking a Thalys train from Paris to Bruxelles and then connecting there for a Belgian IC train from Bruxelles to Mons.
This routing via Aulnoye has a similar journey time to the connections via Bruxelles, and if you're booking at least a couple of months ahead, the prices of taking the two routes can be similar too.
However, if you're booking less than a month or so ahead, this routing via Aulnoye will be much cheaper - and because tickets aren't discounted on this route, you'll pay the same price for the journey via Aulnoye when booking last minute at the station, as you would when booking online.
So if you'll be booking a Paris to Mons journey last minute at the station, you will save at least €40 by taking this route via Aulnoye.
France to Belgium with a Rail Pass:
This route is a good option if you will be travelling from Paris to Belgium with an InterRail or Eurail pass; you can avoid the comparatively expensive rail pass reservation fees, which are payable on the Thalys services.
