Works are being carried out on the railway route between Oslo and Stockholm.
Hence not only has the number of direct trains between the two cities been reduced from its usual level of service - the Swedish IC trains have taken over from the Snabbtag trains.
For the time being these direct IC trains arescheduled to depart from Oslo at:
05:56 on Mon-Fri
11:51 on Saturday
16:56 daily
However, due to the works on the line, these departure times are subject to alteration, particularly at weekends.
Additiional daily journey options are available if you are happy to change trains.
Final Destination: Stockholm
All trains also call at: Kongsvinger

Type of Scenery: River, Forest
Star Rating: **
For most of the journey the train passes through a pleasant, but not outstandingly beautiful landscape, but the highlight is the first 90 mins of the journey, between Oslo and Kongsvinger.
From the left of the morning departures (when facing the direction of travel) there are views over the river valley from the left of the train.
When the train crosses the border there are also sporadic views from the left and right over Swedish lakes.
(The video was captured on a train travelling in the opposite direction from Stockholm to Oslo).
But a highlight of the journey occurs towards journey's end when the train will cross the Igelsta Bridge to the south of Stockholm.
These trains no longer call at Liilestrom station, so if you'll be heading from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to Sweden by train, you now have to make the connection between trains at Oslo S station.
