The Krono + services typically use the same Regio 2N trains which are deployed on regional TER services in other areas of France - but what makes these services stand out, is that they're the fastest option on routes between Paris St Lazare and the largest cities and towns in Normandy.
Though they achieve those fastest end-to-end journey times by skipping more stops on the routes that they take.

Those routes are:

  • Paris-Saint-Lazare – Rouen-Rive-Droite – Yvetot – Bréauté-Beuzeville – Le Havre
  • Paris-Saint-Lazare – Caen – Bayeux – Lison – Carentan – Valognes – Cherbourg
  • Paris-Saint-Lazare – Évreux-Normandie – Bernay – Lisieux – Pont-l'Évêque – Trouville-Deauville

In effect they have replaced what had been Intercités express services on these routes, so key features of those services have been retained, including seat reservations being included when booking tickets.
Hence the distinction to what's typical when travelling by TER trains in France.

The types of ticket made available to travel by these Krono + services are also similar to those sold to travel by the Intercités - though note that SNCF Connect refers to these service by NOMAD, which is the operator.
