Apart from when these trains slow down to travel through the Milano city centre, they spend the rest of the journey travelling at more than 280 km/h on Italy's fastest high speed lines.
But the only wow factor comes from the speed, the scenery is exceptionally uninteresting, for most of the train ride you will be racing across flat farmland.
Then between Bologna and Firenze the train will travel through a series of tunnels, so having something to read or watch with you is recommended.
