On departure from Bern the trains to heading to Zweissimen are usually joined to other trains which will be heading to Domodossola or Brig.
The two trains are then separated on arrival in Spiez.

For the time being BLS typically operates its Lotschberger trains on this route, despite this route not involving a journey through the Lotschberg Tunnel.
Though the plan is for the brand new Mika trains to be introduced.
After departure from Thun station, between there and Spiez the lovely Thunersee can be seen on the left.
The train will reverse direction on departure from Spiez and for most of the journey between there and Zweissimen the railway follows the River Simme through a dramatic valley until journey's end.
South of Wimmis station the train will briefly travel through a rocky gorge, which can be seen on the right, though south of Erlenbach the river is on the left.
