Nancy-Ville (Nancy)

The main Nancy train station building, which faces the Place Thiers is airy and spacious; and is directly linked to voie/platforms/tracks 1, 9 and 13.

From here the acces to voies 2-8 is by a main passage way which runs under the tracks.
This main passage way is connected to the main hall (the Republique Hall) by stairs and a lift (ascenceur).

There is also an escalator, which can be used by arriving passengers to access the station hall from this passage way.
Stairs and a lift provide the access between the passage way and voies 2 - 5, which is why the TGVs from Paris tend to arrive at/depart from.

This passage way is also connected to another entrance/exit to the station on Place St Léon; convenient if your final destination/connections are to the west of the station.
This Place St Leon entrance/exit is linked to the main passage way by escalators and a lift.

There is also a secondary passage way under the tracks, which also connects voies 2 - 8 with the main station buildings on Place Thiers.
However, this passage way only has access by stairs to/from the trains.

When arriving by TGV from Paris, this secondary passage is towards the front of the train.
If you have luggage etc and want to make use of the lift, you may need to walk passed the entrance to this passage way - in order to access the lift.

Nancy's station is located close to the city centre; which is located on the other side of the Place Thiers.

However, the historic heart of Nancy, the Place Stanislas is at the opposite side of the city centre to the station; so is around a 15-20 min walk from the station.

Nancy does not have a Metro, but it does have a tram/guided bus line, and this line 1 links the station to the historic area, the tram stop named 'Cathédrale' is 4 stops from the Gare Nancy stop and is a 5 min walk from the Place Stanislas - take a tram heading towards Essey.
As you exit the station on to Place Thiers - the tram line 1 stops are located on the right hand side of the square.
