For example, you may have decided that the journeys and experiences that you most want to include are a ride on the Bernina Express + the cable car routes from Grindelwald + the lakes in Italian speaking area of Switzerland.

In order to make the what can seem complicated, actually very simple, this is how we will make your ultimately Swiss holiday a reality:

1. You send an email to the ShowMeTheJourney concierge service - all you need to do is title it 'Bespoke Swiss Holiday' and include the dates and time which will suit you for...
2. A conversation in which you discuss your requirements with ShowMeTheJourney. During which you can be guided by my expertise on Swiss rail travel - the best routes to take, the optimum order in which to experience your chosen locations etc.
3. ShowMeTheJourney will use this conversation to fill out a 'Tailormade Package' request form, as provided by the Switzerland Travel Centre - which will include what you want to do and where you want to go.
4. You can then check this over to ensure it captures your requirements, before it is submitted to the Switzerland Travel Centre.
5. The Switzerland Travel Centre will then put together your itinerary, including its recommendations of suitable accommodation.
6. Your bespoke itinerary is then sent to you for review.

So all you will need to do is:

• Have a conversation, during you will be asked for the necessary details, such as length of holiday, number of travellers and optimum total budget.
• Review the request form.
• Let the Switzerland Travel Centre know whether your satisfied with the itinerary, or want to make changes.
• Pay the price that will be in line with your budget, as initially discussed on the call.
• Have a fantastic time in Switzerland!

Just to manage expectations, some practical info to have in mind:
ShowMeTheJourney is based in the UK, so the conversation to discuss the travel desires and requirements will need to happen

• either between 9am and 6pm UK time on Monday to Friday
• between 6pm and 8pm on Monday to Friday - if I don't have any other commitments
• between 10am and 8pm on weekends - if I don't have any other commitments

ShowMeTheJourney will be away, travelling Europe by train, from April 6th - April 21st.

The Switzerland Travel Centre staff only work Monday to Friday and the team is also based in London.
Therefore I will only be sending the 'Tailormade Package' request form on Monday to Friday and the team at the Switzerland Travel Centre will aim to respond to the clients within 24-48 hours, though this may take longer in high season.

Also these bespoke holidays are not discounted.

Chur has direct trains from and to Basel, Bern and Zurich - and it typically also has direct ICE trains from and to multiple German cities including Frankfurt (Main), Hamburg and Hannover.

The experts at the Switzerland Travel Centre can put together an easy bespoke scenic round-trip which could include:

1: Day trip from Chur to Tirano

You can choose to take this spectacular journey along the Albula Railway and the Bernina Railway either on the Bernina Express, or on the regular trains - which would also give you the opportunity to choose where to break the journey to follow hiking trails etc.

2: Travel from Chur to Interlaken

Choose between making a connection from one express train to another in Zurich, or traveling through Luzern in order to take the Luzern-Interlaken Express.

3: A day trip or two from Interlaken

Interlaken is a great base for exploring by train take your pick from heading to the likes of https://grindelwald.swiss/en/, the BRB mountain steam railway, the Gelmerbahn, the Eiger Express cable car, Schynige Platte and so much more!

4: Interlaken to Lausanne

Choose between making a connection from one express train to another in Bern, or taking the Golden Pass route and making an easy connection in Montreux.

5: A day trip or two from Lausanne

Lausanne is a great base for exploring western Switzerland. You could take your pick from cruising Lake Geneva, visiting Gruyères, taking the mountain railways from Aigle or riding the route of the Mont Blanc Express.

Take the ride through the Rhone valley and then while in Brig take time out to head to the Centovali Rallway, Gornergrat or Zermatt - the choice will be yours!

7: Back to Chur on one of Switzerland's most spectacular railways

Choose between riding the Glacier Express or connecting between regular train on the incredible route up and over the Oberalp Pass.
