If you'll be visiting The Netherlands, simply head to the station whenever it suits you, buy a ticket and step on to the train.
Though to make things even easier, we've published a guide to travelling by train in The Netherlands (Holland)
It is packed with useful content, even though we do say so ourselves, including how to buy a ticket, how to find your train at a Dutch station and how to travel with bikes etc.
It also has links to other sources of information, that will help with checking and planning your journey.

Tickets will cost the same price if purchased at the station immediately before departure.
When travelling between Amsterdam ↔ Breda on these direct trains a supplement of €1.40 - €2.40 is charged; the higher price applies at business hours.
This supplement will automatically be included in the cost of a ticket counter, if you specify that you want to travel on the InterCity Direct, or if you use a ticket machine they have an obvious 'button' to press.
If you will be travelling with a Chipkart pass, you will need to tap on a post on the platform (spoor) prior to boarding.
