At Great Malvern station

The vast majority of rail stations in Britain have two platforms on either side of a railway, one for boarding trains in each direction, but few of them have been rightfully included in the book of Britain's Best 100 Railway Stations.

What sets Great Malvern apart from the norm is its cast iron floral details added by the Victorian sculptor, William Forsyth, which have been recently restored.

Though one detail worth knowing by contemporary travellers is that the transfer between platform 2, where the trains from Birmingham and London arrive, and the exit/entrance is by a subway under the railway tracks, which can only be accessed by stairs

The closest access into the Malvern Hills to Great Malvern station is by taking the Happy Valley path, which is around a third a mile from the station, close to the town centre.

The northern edge of the hills is close by an area of the town named Link Top and bus route / line 44, goes from by the station every 30 mins on Monday to Saturday.
It's stop at Link Top is within an 8 to 15 min walk of the Malvern Clock Tower, which is a marker for the main access to the hills.

Though for those happy to walk around half a mile to the clock tower, the station named Malvern Link is closer.
