Bus Station

The main station which serves Ceske Budejovicen is such a glorious example of Neo-Classical railway architecture that it's listed by the National Heritage Institute.

Though the main station hall has modernised in recent years to provide a smart location to await a train and book a ticket.

There is step-free access to and from the trains as the main passage way under the railways lines has lifts / elevators which link it to each pairs of platforms / nastupiste
Though when heading to a train departing from platforms / nastupiste 2 to 8, you will find the lift down to the passage way on platform 1.

When arriving by train don't assume that you'll have to use the multiple sets of steps, that you'll find on each platform to access the exits.
You may need to walk along the platform to find the elevator.

Departing by train

The platforms / nastupiste are divided into zones and these zones will typically be included on the departure indicators along with the number of the platform.

There are two passage ways under the railway lines.
The one which leads off the main hall. where the ticket booking desks are located is the quickest and most obvious routes to the zones A to D.

There is another passage in the station which is accessed from the secondary hall, that houses the station's cafe, and this passage leads to the zones E to H.
However, this passge is only accessed by stairs.
If you'll want a step free route to trains departing from zones E to H, you can use the lift access in the main passage way and then walk along the platform to board or await your train.

Though if you don't want to use the lifts / elevators it won't particularly matter which of the passages you use to access the train you will be taking.

To the old town

The main square in the heart of the old town area can be accessed on foot in around 12 to 20 minutes.
The route is to turn right on exiting the station and then take the street on the first left, which is named Lannova tr, and go straight ahead; much of the route is pedestrianized.

The alternative is to tale either of the minibus routes, line 21 or line 22, which can both be boarded at a stop that's located across the street from the station, but to the left - it's outside the moden building which looks like a mall, but it's actually the main bus station that serves Ceske Budejovice.

To the Budvar / Budweiser brewery

The visitor centre of the Budweiser brewery is located more than half a kilometer away from the main station in Ceske Budejovice.

It's actually close to a station used by local trains, named České Budějovice severní zastávka.

Taking the train to this station is the easiest public transport option, as there is no direct bus / trolleybus route between the main station and the brewery.
The route is to take trolley bus line 6, direction Hrdejovice, from a stop across the street from the station, to a stop named, Marinaske namesti.
From here you can take trolleybus line 2, direction Borek Tocna
