There are three very different options for taking the journey by train from London to Birmingham, because there are three routes taken - and a different company operates the train on each route.
However, more choice means more opportunities to save money and to select different departure and arrival stations.

In summary the choices are:

  1. taking a tilting express train, operated by Avanti West Coast from Euston station in London to New Street station in Birmingham;
  2. taking a London Northwestern train from Euston to New Street station over a slower, less direct, route;
  3. taking a train operated by Chiltern Railways from Marylebone station in London to Moor Street station in Birmingham.
