How to take a rail journey between the capital cities of the UK and Germany

London to Berlin by train

When travelling by train from London to Berlin and departing the UK on Monday, Wednesday and Friday there is a choice between:

  • making the journey by day on a string of three high speed trains
  • connecting in Bruxelles for an overnight train.
    Though from December 13th this choice between travelling by day or overnight will also be available when heading to Berlin from London by train on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Routes you can take to go from London to Berlin

When travelling between most cities by train there is only one logical option, though on other journeys there is a choice between different trains or alternative routes. If different options are available you can use the info to decide which is best for you.

Choose one of the following options:

Route Information

Via stations: Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel Zuid and Köln/Cologne Hbf

Option 1: travelling by day

Route Information

Via stations: Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel Zuid

Option 2: travelling overnight via Bruxelles on Tues, Thurs and Sat

Route Information

Via stations: Paris Gare Du Nord/Paris Nord and Paris Gare de l'Est/Paris Est

Option 3: travelling overnight via Paris on Tues, Thurs or Saturday

Route Information

Via stations: Bruxelles-Midi/Brussel Zuid

Option 3: travelling overnight via Bruxelles on Mon, Weds and Friday
