How to travel by train from Bologna to Florence

Bologna to Firenze / Florence by train

There are two routes used by trains from Bologna to Firenze/Florence

  1. The newer high speed line on which high speed Frecce and Italo trains rush between the two cities at more than 250 km/h.
  2. The older improved 'classic' route through the Apennine Tunnel taken by the therefore slower, but typically much cheaper, InterCity trains.
